Enhancing emergency response capabilities: Romanian Gendarmerie receives 51 specialized vehicles

The Romanian Gendarmerie recently purchased over 50 SsangYong Musso Grand, for various uses and missions.

A total of 51 specialized vehicles, procured under the project "Strengthening Infrastructure and Preparedness for Critical Emergency Situations," funded by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, were received on February 7, 2023, and have been integrated into the equipment of the Romanian Gendarmerie structures.

The total value of the acquisition is 12.88 million lei, and the beneficiary units for these intervention resources include the 41 gendarmerie inspectorates in the counties, the eight mobile gendarmerie groups, the General Directorate of Gendarmerie of Bucharest, as well as the Gendarmerie Special Intervention Brigade.

The vehicles are equipped with advanced features designed to ensure efficient intervention of the gendarmes in the event of natural disasters.

Moreover, they are outfitted with display screens for public warning messages, thermal imaging infrared cameras, and equipment to facilitate gendarmerie access to impassable areas.
